Send an email to the Ministry of Environment

Action Champlain’s motion to appeal was denied on June 30th 2021 by the Superior Court of Justice - Ontario Divisional Court and we are very disappointed.

Our appeal to the Local Planning Appeals Tribunal (TAAL) successfully uncovered many errors and omissions that Colacem made in their application for Environmental Compliance Approval from the Ministry of the Environment. We hope that the new Minister of the Environment, the Honourable David Piccini, appointed June 18, 2021 will revoke their Environmental Compliance Approval.

Now, we all need to put political pressure on every level: Municipal, Regional (United Counties), Provincial and Federal. We all pay taxes to these levels, we deserve good services, a healthy environment, and as promised, a healthy Canada with net 0% greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

Our MPs Francis Drouin and Amanda Simard have asked for your help in putting pressure on the Ministry of the Environment to respond to the letter they sent it.

Ask him to respond to the letter that was sent by Amanda Simard and Francis Drouin to Minister Yurek dated May 31, 2021. Note it was also published in the Review Newspaper

We ask each of you to add a few individual comments to personalize your email.

We thank the community which supported us in our efforts, and now must pass the torch to elected officials who know all too well - that climate change is one of the most important environmental issues of our time. To reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by 40 to 45% by 2030 we must stop this cement plant today.
